Editorial policy

Our rule: AI can help us research, organise, analyse and draft content, but it is never the source of a financial fact, and Ledgerline’s editors remain responsible for everything we publish.

Editorial independence

Ledgerline decides what to cover on news value and relevance to readers. Advertisers, data providers and the companies or projects we write about have no say over our coverage.

Sourcing

Every factual market claim must come from a verified data provider or a cited source. We rank sources as follows: official company announcements; government and regulator announcements; exchanges and financial institutions; established financial news organisations; direct sources; verified market-data providers; verified official social accounts; other secondary sources. We link to the original and distinguish confirmed information from developing or single-source reports.

Fact checking

Before an article reaches an editor it passes two checks. An automatic checker verifies that every number, link and quotation traces back to the verified data and cited reports it was written from. An independent AI fact-check then looks for unsupported claims, misread data and advice. Articles that fail the automatic checker are never sent for publication. The editor sees both reports when reviewing.

Use of artificial intelligence

We use AI models to assist with drafting market reports, story explainers and event previews from verified data and cited reporting, and to help check them. AI is never the source of a financial fact, never invents quotes, figures, statements or sources, and is never listed as an author. Articles where AI materially contributed carry a short AI disclosure. Articles without meaningful AI involvement carry none.

Review before publication

Markets Desk data reports and explainers are published only when every automated gate passes: the number, link and quotation checker; an independent AI fact-check with no open issues; and a content-quality audit (helpfulness, specificity, trust, citability, answer-first opening) using the Jev model through the open-source jev-seo auditor. The database refuses publication otherwise. Any article that does not pass every gate is held for a human editor, who can edit, approve, send back or reject it. Articles published through the automated gates say so in their disclosure and carry no reviewer name; articles approved by an editor show the editor’s name. Editors monitor published articles and can unpublish, correct or retract them at any time.

Breaking news

We prioritise speed without sacrificing verification. We do not publish a claim because it is trending on social media, and we label single-source reports as reported rather than confirmed.

Corrections

If we publish an error, we correct it and add a visible, dated correction note to the article. We keep the previous version on record and never silently change significant facts. To report an error, email privacy@cookdelice.com.

Market-data methodology

Prices, rates and statistics come from the providers listed on our data and methodology page, each shown with its source, timestamp and status (live, delayed, reference or stale).

Images

Article visuals are data visualisations drawn from real price history. We do not use AI-generated images that could be mistaken for photographs of real events. If we ever use an AI-generated or AI-edited image, it will be labelled. News photos on headline pages belong to the linked publishers.

Authors

Articles are published under the Ledgerline Markets Desk, our editorial team identity, together with the name of the human editor when an editor reviewed them. We do not create fictional journalists, biographies or photos.
